Logs and Diagnostics
9. Logs and Diagnostics
Session logs
BlenderSync writes a new log file each time Revit starts. Logs are stored at:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\GoThereSoftware\BsyncRevit\Logs\
File naming:
bsync-revit-<yyyyMMdd-HHmmss>-<session-id>.log
The session ID is an 8-character identifier unique to each Revit session.
Retention: The three most recent session logs are kept. Older logs are deleted automatically when the add-in loads. The current session log is never deleted while Revit is open.
Collect logs before restarting Revit if you are diagnosing a problem. Restarting may delete the session log you need.
Installer log
The installer writes a log to:
%TEMP%\BlenderSync_Install_<yyyyMMdd_HHmmss>.log
This is also accessible from the Open log file button on the Finished screen of the setup app.
Attaching logs to a report
The Report Issue window automatically includes the last 12,000 characters of the current session log in the submitted report. If you need to share the full log file separately, locate it at the path above and attach it to your support message along with your reference ID.
