Activating a License

4. Activating a License

Click License in the Settings panel to open the License window.

License states

BlenderSync shows one of the following states in the License window:

State What it means
Not activated No license or trial is set up on this device
Checking A license check is in progress
Trial active A free trial is running on this device
Trial expired The trial period has ended
Paid active A valid paid license is active
Paid expired The paid license has expired
Needs attention An action is required to restore access
Seat limit reached All seats on your subscription are in use
Offline The license server could not be reached

Starting a trial

To start a free trial, open the License window. Follow the prompt to activate a trial on this device. No license key is required.

Entering a license key

To activate a paid license, enter your license key in the License window and confirm. The add-in contacts the license server and validates the key. On success, the state updates to Paid active.

Device leases and seats

Each activation claims a seat on your subscription. When you activate on a new machine, a seat is consumed. When you deactivate or your subscription lapses, the seat is released.

If the seat limit is reached, you can free up seats by clicking Purge expired seats in the License window. This removes device leases that are no longer active. A confirmation dialog is shown before any leases are removed.

What changes after activation

Once a license is active, the following buttons become enabled:

  • Setup, Changes, Selected, Capture, Start, Stop

License lapse

If your license expires or is invalidated while Revit is open, BlenderSync responds immediately:

  • The sync and setup buttons become disabled
  • Any active LiveSync session stops automatically

Reopen the License window to review your license state and restore access.

Beta access

Note: Beta access is only available when a beta period is open. If no beta period is currently active, the Beta button opens the window but no enrollment is possible.

The Beta button in the Settings panel opens the Beta window. When a beta period is open, you can activate or deactivate beta access from here. If you already have an active paid or trial license, you must deactivate it first before enrolling in the beta.
