8. Getting Help and Reporting Issues

8.1 About

Click About in the Settings panel.

The About window shows: - The installed add-in version - The Revit host version

It also provides links to: - Homepage and Documentation: revit.gotheresoftware.no - Community: blendersync.discourse.group

8.2 Reporting an issue

Click Report Issue in the Settings panel.

The Report Issue window sends a structured report to GoThereSoftware support. The following is collected automatically:

  • Add-in version and Revit host version
  • Document title
  • Timestamp (UTC)
  • OS details, locale, CPU cores, RAM
  • The last 12,000 characters of the current session log

Writing the report:

  • Summary (required, max 200 characters) — describe the problem in one line. Be specific: what you did, what you expected, what happened instead.
  • Description (optional, max 2,000 characters) — add any detail that would help reproduce the issue: steps, frequency, whether it is consistent.

Preview: Before sending, you can switch to the Preview tab to see the full JSON payload that will be submitted.

Sending: Click Send. The button shows Sending report... while the request is in progress.

Reference ID: On success, a reference ID is shown in the window. Save this — you will need it if you follow up with support.
